How Long Should a Lanyard Be?

The length of a printed or woven lanyard varies quite a lot, depending on what use the lanyard is intended for.

• For a standard lanyard, a standard length is 90cm, meaning that it forms a 45cm loop.

A standard lanyard will fit loosely around the neck and puts the badge at chest level for average height adults.

Other lanyards can come in different sizes. For example, a custom lanyard for keys can be either the same length as a standard lanyard if the keys are being worn around the neck, but much shorter if it's intended to fit in a pocket.
